The Alabaster Jar Foundation - Praise Report
The
Alabaster Jar Foundation was established in 2009 with
programs to impact the lives of singles by leveraging the
platform of CBA's
Singles Initiative Project.
The
foundation has also hosted
medical outreach programs
offering health checkups and providing free drugs. By the
grace of God, the foundation has been blessed with many
success stories.
The foundation started housing its
first teenage mother in 2014 with the view of helping her
get her life back together again. Four months pregnant, she
came in at age 17. The foundation registered her at a health
center, paid all her ante-natal and medical bills including
her caesarean birth expenses.
She had dropped out
from her second year in senior secondary school but as soon
as she felt able we arranged for her to go back to and or
learn a vocation, so that she can fit back into the society.
We house mostly teenage mums from 13 years old and
if need be up to 21 years of age, but not older. Our second
teenage mother came in at age 19.
The foundation once sponsored a
teenage girl who came in as an illiterate. We decided to
enroll her in school when we saw her zeal to read and study
the Bible. She did very well in school and quickly learned
to read simple books to everyone's amazement.
